When HR consultant and former Infosys employee Viji Hari decided to write her first book, she chose the theme of sexual harassment at the workplace because she felt it was an issue that people in the corporate environment still had several questions about but were too scared to seek out answers.
“I started my HR consultancy in October 2013 and in December of the same year, the government issued the Vishaka Guidelines on sexual harassment. I decided to focus on that area of human resources,” says Hari, who released her book ‘Behind Closed Cubicles’ on Friday at the ongoing TieCon entrepreneurs conference in the city. The book, published by Notion Press, recounts real life cases of harassment at the workplace based on a survey the author carried out across cities.
