Important Announcement on the Supreme Court Directives – Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplaces Act (PoSH Act) of 2013
The Supreme Court of India in a recent judgement spoke about the status of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (PoSH Act). It said that even a decade after its introduction, the adoption and implementation remains poor. The following directives aim to address the situation on a fast track basis.
As An Employer What You Need To Know
Digital Accessibility: List out details of your company’s Internal Committee members, contact details, a copy of the PoSH policy and a detailed procedure to submit online complaints on your company website. Make sure these are updated from time to time!
Training: Invest time and other resources towards building the skill and capacity of your Internal Committee members to perform their roles well. Are your Internal Committee members well versed in the procedure of conducting inquiry and facilitating a conciliation? If not, contact us for our IC training programs.
Orientation Programs and Awareness: Employees to be given training programs for understanding the relevant concepts and to empower them about their rights. Women employees and women’s groups to be given focused awareness workshops. KelpHR can conduct all of these for your organization.
Implications For Employers: Communicate the importance and seriousness of the subject in your company culture and values. Make sure your employees know that this is a non-negotiable aspect of being part of the company.
